Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday received at Baabda Palace, MP Ibrahim Mneimneh, with whom he discussed the country’s current situation.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, MP Mneimneh stated that the discussion “covered the decisions issued by the Council of Ministers, whereby I affirmed our support for the President of the Republic, the government, and its decisions. We also discussed the current political landscape, emphasizing the need to take serious steps to implement government decisions wisely and decisively at the same time.” He also highlighted the importance of supporting the government’s reform process.
Separately, President Aoun engaged with MP Michel Douaihy at Baabda Palace. MP Douaihy noted that their discussions focused on the outcomes of the visit of US envoys Tom Barrack and Morgan Ortagus. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of completing the implementation of the Cabinet’s decisions during the August 5 and 7 sessions, which is crucial for Lebanon and sovereignty restoration.
Among the visitors to Baabda Palace were Hollywood Executive Producer Oscar El-Zoghbi and Father Johnny Saba. They briefed President Aoun on the ongoing preparations to produce a film about the Phoenicians, which will be filmed in Lebanon to showcase the Phoenician civilization and its historical events. The film is set to feature a host of Lebanese, Arab, and international actors, as well as internationally experienced technicians and engineers, with completion scheduled for 2027 and a budget of approximately $71 million. The start of production will be announced next month after completing the necessary logistical arrangements.
President Aoun expressed his appreciation for the initiative undertaken by producer Al-Zoghbi and Father Saba, highlighting the importance of producing a film about the Phoenicians.
