Presidency Council Meets Italian Foreign Minister.

Tripoli, Presidency Council on Monday welcomed Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio who arrived earlier on a visit to Libya, highlighting Italy’s role in support of peace and stability in Libya.
This came at a audience held by Members of the Council Abdullah Al Lafi and Ibrahim Al Koni with the Italian Minister.
Di Maio praised the Presidency Council work in all assignments particularly the reconciliation file, and said Italy was prepared to work with the Libyans in the economic and trade areas.
The Italian Minister considered opening of the coastal highway an important step at this junction, to bring together Libyans, indicating that his visit was to emphasize this event which he said will pave the way for executing the phase (B) of the coastal highway in accordance with the Libyan Italian Friendship Treaty.
The Council Communication Office said there was an emphasis at the talks of the need to conduct elections on set time, and to agree on a constitutional basis.
The Italian Minister extended an invitation to the Presidency Council to visit Italy in the coming period, to further discuss issues of common interest.
