Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli emphasized that the development of the The Great Transfiguration project site on the land of peace will be Egypt’s gift to the entire world and all religions. It will become a magnificent destination for all visitors, whether for religious, recreational, or environmental purposes.

He noted that the Egyptian state has exerted significant effort in implementing this project so far, starting with the development of St. Catherine Airport, transforming it into an international airport with a large passenger terminal befitting the city’s status, along with several other projects such as eco-lodges, mountain hotels, and a new residential neighborhood in Zaitouna. He added that the number of tourism and hotel rooms provided by the project exceeds 1000 rooms, making the city an important tourist destination.

Madbouli, at the end of his inspection tour in the city of St. Catherine to follow up on the final stages of the development projects of the Above the Land of Peace” site, extende
d his congratulations to the Egyptian people on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, wishing it to be filled with goodness, blessings, and prosperity for our beloved Egypt and the Islamic and Arab world.

He also extended congratulations to Egypt Copts on the occasion of the beginning of the “Great Fast.”

He said: “I was keen during these blessed days, along with several ministers and under the hospitality of the South Sinai Governor, to visit one of the holiest places on earth, which has religious and historical significance for all humanity, with all its spectra and divine religions, namely the area of “The Holy Valley”, “Mount Sinai”, and the area of “The Greatest Manifestation”. This holy and blessed point is the only place on Earth where Allah Almighty manifested His noble face to Moses.”

He continued to say that the Egyptian state, represented by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the government, was keen on developing this area and implementing a project that is, by all standards, a global pro
ject.”

Madbouli added that “this area is registered with UNESCO as one of the World Heritage Sites, and at the same time, it is a “natural reserve” according to Egyptian law, therefore, there were difficulties and complexities in implementing development works, and it was necessary for development works to comply with the standards set by UNESCO or the relevant standards as it is a natural reserve. In light of this, this wonderful design that we see today was developed, Madbouli added.

He explained that the entire project is designed as if it were part of nature, which has its own distinctiveness. Therefore, the buildings were designed not to overshadow the natural, heritage, color, and existing agricultural dimensions of the place, as well as the nature of the general site coordination. All of them are inspired by the original place. The trees used in the furniture are olive trees mentioned in more than one place in the divine books, especially in the Holy Quran.”

He continued: “We are now present, and be
hind us is “Mount Sinai”, also mentioned in all divine books. It is the sacred point where Allah Almighty manifested Himself to our master Moses in this area. We also visited the Monastery of St. Catherine, which has the famous “Alliq” tree mentioned in the divine books.

In this regard, the Prime Minister said: “Today, we were pleased with one of the largest international hotel chains, “Steigenberger International”, signing management contracts for one of the hotels in the city, in preparation for the opening.”

He added that negotiations are underway with other international companies to start operating the rest of the facilities, also confirming the commitment to President El-Sisi’s directive to include the development of the old city in the project. He pointed out that old houses are being developed, and unified government buildings are being established to provide advanced services to the residents of the city, confirming that the project is comprehensive and will be ready for opening at the nearest oppo
rtunity.

The premier renewed his congratulations to the Egyptian people in all their spectra, whether Muslims or Copts, on the occasion of these blessed days, taking this opportunity to call upon Allah Almighty to bring all the good and blessings to our beloved Egypt and the entire region.
