Tripoli: The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, engaged in discussions today with Ulrika Richardson, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and joint coordination between Libya and the United Nations system in humanitarian and development fields, aiming to support the Government of National Unity's efforts to consolidate stability and achieve sustainable development. According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Sufian Balkhair, the Acting Director of the Department of International Organizations. The discussions included reviewing the latest developments in cooperation and exploring prospects for further developing the partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the United Nations system. Both parties exchanged views on several issues of common interest, intending to su pport national priorities and improve the effectiveness of UN programs and initiatives implemented in Libya. Al-Baour reiterated the Ministry's commitment to strengthening constructive cooperation with the United Nations Mission and all its related agencies, funds, and programs. He emphasized that such collaboration aims to serve common interests and contribute to supporting sustainable development efforts and enhancing stability in Libya. Ulrika Richardson, in response, expressed her appreciation for the level of cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. She affirmed the United Nations' commitment to continuing its support for Libya and working in partnership with national institutions to achieve shared goals, thereby fulfilling the aspirations of the Libyan people for development and stability.
