Tripoli: The Head of the European Union Delegation to Libya, Nicola Orlando, affirmed the EU's commitment to strengthening tangible support for Libyan authorities throughout the country. This announcement followed his meeting in Tripoli with Taher Al-Baour, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity. According to Libyan News Agency, Orlando, in a tweet posted on his Twitter account today, explained that he briefed Al-Baour on the promising outcomes of the recent technical dialogue between the EU and Libya on rights-based migration and border management, which was held in Brussels. He emphasized the EU's commitment to continuing its support for Libyan authorities in this area. The meeting also addressed progress made in the civil aviation sector, ongoing cooperation to support local governance, and efforts to unify the military institution. Additionally, discussions were held on establishing a national office for the Erasmus+ program to expand opp ortunities for exchange in higher education. Orlando noted that both sides exchanged views on recent international efforts to strengthen national unity and revitalize the political process in Libya. The Head of the EU Delegation affirmed the EU's support for initiatives that promote stability, preserve the democratic path in Libya, and complement the facilitation efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
