Tripoli: European Union Ambassador Nicola Orlando affirmed the EU’s commitment to supporting Libyan national institutions to improve governance and enhance service delivery. This announcement was made during a speech he delivered on Tuesday at a celebration organized by the Ministry of Local Government in cooperation with the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) to launch the second phase of the Musanadah program.
According to Libyan News Agency, Orlando stated that the Musanadah 2 project is part of the European Union’s efforts to support decentralization efforts and the Government of National Unity. It also addresses the challenges facing Libya during its transitional phases, especially at a time when local capacities are required to contribute to building a modern state. He highlighted that this phase will be more responsive to the needs of Libyan institutions, building on lessons learned from previous programs and projects, and expressed hope for greater success in this phase.
