Tripoli: The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has officially approved a comprehensive short-term training plan aimed at supporting digital transformation and boosting productivity within the oil sector. This decision was reached during the NOC’s tenth board meeting for 2025, which took place on Tuesday at its headquarters in Tripoli.
According to Libyan News Agency, the training plan was devised by the General Department of Training, Development, and Capacity Building at the corporation. It focuses on enhancing human capacity, improving the performance and professional skills of workers, preparing future leaders, and fostering a culture of occupational safety. Additionally, the plan aims to encourage innovation, increase productivity, and support the sector’s digital and technological transformation.
The initiative targets all employees within the oil sector, with particular emphasis on field specializations in fields, ports, and operational sites. It prioritizes employees who have not previously had access to training opportunities. The General Department of Training and Capacity Building has outlined a precise mechanism for monitoring training activities, utilizing an electronic system to track the implementation of programs and ensure adherence to professional standards. Companies are required to submit regular reports detailing the number of courses conducted and their impact on both company performance and the broader corporation.
The training strategy is part of an integrated strategic vision, beginning with specialized training within Libya and progressing to advanced training abroad. This is in preparation for a long-term training plan, aligning with the National Oil Corporation’s vision for comprehensive development aimed at enhancing the sector’s overall performance.
