MOI and EUBAM Discuss Border Security and Cooperation

Tripoli: The tenth meeting of the Land Task Force took place at the GNU-Ministry of Interior, featuring representatives from the Ministry’s security sectors and the EU Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM). Chaired by Abdul-Ati Al-Jadak, Head of the International Organizations Follow-up Department and a member of the Technical Committee for Migration and Border Security, the meeting focused on strategies to bolster and secure Libya’s borders while enhancing collaboration with EUBAM.

According to Libyan News Agency, key topics included monitoring the implementation of joint projects, such as equipping border crossings with cutting-edge surveillance systems and providing support to various land crossings. The meeting also addressed training programs for security personnel and reviewed planned field visits to the Wazen and Nalut border crossings. These visits aim to develop infrastructure and boost the efficiency of security operations.

The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to international cooperation and improving the capabilities of its security services, which is essential for maintaining the country’s security and stability.
