National Center for Disease Control Celebrates World Influenza Day by Honoring Surveillance Teams

Tripoli: The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) organized a Scientific Day on Influenza, during which it honored influenza surveillance teams and reviewed significant achievements of the Selective Influenza Surveillance Program in Libya. The event underscored national efforts in epidemiological surveillance, aiming to bolster preparedness and response mechanisms for respiratory diseases.

According to Libyan News Agency, the event featured a detailed scientific presentation that discussed the work of influenza surveillance teams since the program's initiation in February 2022, projecting its developments and contributions through to 2026. The presentation emphasized the program's role in fortifying the epidemiological surveillance system across Libya.

The event also recognized the exemplary efforts of eleven selective influenza surveillance teams from Tripoli, Benghazi, and Sabha. These teams were commended for their significant contributions to supporting the surveillance system and enhancing the program's overall effectiveness.
