New York:The U.S. President's Senior Adviser for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, emphasized the importance of unifying Libya's institutions and supporting a Libyan-led path toward national elections and lasting peace. He highlighted the need to deepen security integration as part of this effort.
According to Libyan News Agency, Boulos noted significant progress made by Libyans from both east and west on creating a unified budget, coordinating economic and security efforts, and developing a UN-facilitated electoral framework.
Boulos' comments followed his participation in hosting a side event at the United Nations General Assembly titled 'International Support for Peace, Unity, and Prosperity in Libya.' The event was co-hosted with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, UN Special Representative for Libya Hanna Tetteh, and representatives from Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
