Abuja: A huge quantity of hashish, estimated at more than five tons, was destroyed in the city of Misrata. The Misrata Free Zone Port Customs Center announced the destruction of a massive quantity of hashish, exceeding 5,000 kg (five tons), which had been previously seized within the Misrata Free Zone Port.
According to Libyan News Agency, the destruction operation was carried out under the supervision of the Misrata East Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Prosecution Office. The Misrata Free Zone Port Customs Center administration executed the operation with participation and on-site support from the Misrata Joint Operations Force, the Misrata Free Zone Security Directorate, the K9 Unit, the Central Region General Services Company, the Handling Department, and the Free Zone Security and Safety Department.
The center emphasized that the high level of coordination and national spirit demonstrated by all judicial, customs, and security authorities serves as a model to be emulated in upholding the prestige of the state, the rule of law, and protecting the nation's security and stability.
