Tripoli: Member of the High National Elections Commission, Rabab Halab, engaged in discussions with Nicollette Baker, the Political Advisor of the British Embassy in Libya, focusing on strategies to bolster cooperation for women’s empowerment in the electoral arena.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Commission’s media office reported that the meeting explored ways to enhance leadership skills among Libyan women and develop electoral awareness programs aimed at increasing their participation in the electoral process. During the discussion, Nicollette Baker commended the continuous efforts of the Women’s Support Unit within the Commission to strengthen the political role of Libyan women. She emphasized the significance of initiatives designed to foster an environment that encourages women’s active participation in elections, ensuring they can reach the ballot boxes under optimal conditions.
Both parties underscored the necessity to persist in enhancing international cooperation to offer technical and material support for programs that empower women. This initiative is part of the international community’s commitment to bolstering Libya’s stability and facilitating its democratic transition process.
