Tripoli: Members of the Libyan House of Representatives have issued a strong call for an immediate halt to the ongoing fighting in Tripoli. They are urging the Supreme Council of State to collaborate with them to form a unified government that can address the crisis effectively.
According to Libyan News Agency, the House of Representatives has emphasized the need to open safe corridors to allow competent authorities to perform their duties in protecting civilians, conducting rescue and first aid operations, and extinguishing fires. The statement, released on Wednesday, highlights the urgency of the situation and the need for coordinated efforts to restore peace.
The House of Representatives has also expressed its condemnation of the actions of the Government of National Unity, holding it accountable on national, legal, and moral grounds for the current turmoil in Tripoli. The MPs stress the importance of safeguarding civilians and their properties amidst the conflict, urging the State Council to initiate communications and coordination to establish a single, unified government dedicated to de-escalating the situation and reinstating security and stability in the region.
