Geneva: The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity participated in the opening of the 113th session of the International Labor Conference at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. This significant event gathers 187 member states of the International Labor Organization (ILO), featuring representation from governments, employers, and workers. The conference is set to continue until June 13.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Libyan delegation included representatives from the Ministry, employers, and workers, underscoring the importance of tripartite representation. This involvement highlights Libya’s dedication to upholding the principles of decent work and promoting social dialogue on the international stage.
The opening session included the election of Zimbabwe’s Minister of Manpower, Edgar Mayo, as President of the current session. Additionally, vice presidents, heads of committees, and tripartite working groups were elected, setting the stage for collaborative efforts during the conference.
The participation of the Libyan delegation aligns with the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation’s objectives to support social dialogue and enhance international cooperation in labor and employment. The ministry aims to leverage this platform for exchanging expertise with ILO member states, contributing to the development of Libyan labor market policies and improving the work environment.
