Abu Dhabi:The Ministry of Interior held a ceremony on Thursday to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of Libyan Police Day. The event saw the presence of Major General Imad Al-Trabelsi, the Libyan Minister of Interior, Tunisian Minister of Interior Khaled Nouri, along with several officials, security leaders, officers, non-commissioned officers, and retired police personnel.
Accourding to Libyan News Agency, the Tunisian Minister of Interior highlighted the strong fraternal ties between Libya and Tunisia during his address. He expressed his delight in participating in the event and underscored the importance of enhancing security cooperation between the two nations.
Major General Imad Al-Trabelsi welcomed his Tunisian counterpart, emphasizing the mutual security interests of Libya and Tunisia, and the deep-rooted relationship between their peoples. He acknowledged the efforts and sacrifices of police personnel in safeguarding the nation and its citizens.
The Minister further noted that the anniversary serves to honor the police institution's history and its unification across Libya's three regions. He recognized the contributions of the institution's pioneers and retirees, attributing the Ministry's progress to the collective efforts and solidarity of its various components.
The ceremony included honoring retired police personnel, pioneers of the institution, key figures in security training, and educators at the Police Officers' College, acknowledging their contributions to training generations of police officers.
