Libya and Romania Sign Veterinary Health Certificates to Boost Meat Imports

VSlcea:Joint veterinary health certificates have been signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of National Unity and Romanian authorities to increase meat and animal product imports to the Libyan market.

Accourding to Libyan News Agency, the certificates cover imports of live sheep and cattle, red meat, fish, poultry, and sheep and cattle liver. This agreement regulates the supply of these products in line with approved health requirements.

The signing ceremony was held in VSlcea, Romania, with Mohamed Al-Turki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and Head of the Management Committee of the National Center for Animal Health, and Alexandru Bociu, Head of the Romanian National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority, in attendance.

This initiative aims to facilitate trade between Libya and Romania and diversify animal product sources for the Libyan market, while ensuring adherence to veterinary health and food safety standards.
