Tripoli: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity has announced the adoption of the Code of Conduct and Professional Discipline for Libyan Mission Staff Abroad. This initiative seeks to enhance professional discipline, standardize conduct, and protect the reputation and interests of Libya in host countries.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry stated that this code provides a unified framework regulating the professional conduct of mission staff. It sets clear guidelines for interactions, ensuring mutual respect, effective communication, and adherence to diplomatic norms in all official and daily situations. The code also emphasizes the protection of public funds and mission property, as well as maintaining confidentiality and security of official documents and client data.

The Ministry highlighted that the code includes provisions for a respectful work environment, prohibiting abuse and discrimination, which contributes to improved professionalism and quality of consular and administrative services for citizens. It also represents a step towards standardizing behavior within missions, reducing violations, enhancing governance and oversight, and mitigating media and diplomatic risks from undisciplined practices or statements. This approach aims to reinforce professional commitment and improve performance efficiency and service quality.
