Tripoli: The Ministry of Local Government of the Government of National Unity engaged in discussions with the German Embassy in Libya to explore methods for strengthening partnerships that bolster local development programs and projects. This initiative is part of the ongoing cooperation between the two entities.
According to Libyan News Agency, the dialogue took place during a meeting convened by Mr. Abdul Salam Al-Qadi, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Organizational Affairs at the Ministry, and the official responsible for the International Cooperation and Development Portfolio at the German Embassy in Tripoli. The meeting focused on various joint cooperation issues and reviewed the progress of existing programs and projects, alongside the challenges they encounter. It underscored the necessity of expanding these initiatives to boost sustainable development locally.
The discussions also ventured into potential areas for expanded cooperation, including digital transformation, urban planning, media, capacity building, and waste management, both solid and liquid. There was also an emphasis on developing and executing training programs and camps to support entrepreneurs and enhance skills within local communities.
The meeting reiterated the German Embassy’s commitment to supporting the Ministry of Local Government’s endeavors to enhance municipal services and improve the efficiency of local government institutions. This support aims to elevate the quality of life and services offered to citizens across various municipalities.
