Tripoli: The Libyan-Maltese Technical Committee for Maritime Boundary Demarcation convened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Tripoli to address the primary technical challenges hindering the maritime border demarcation process.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was led by Mohamed Al-Harari, with participation from the Libyan Technical Committee members. Representing Malta, Christopher Cutajar, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism and head of the Maltese delegation, was present along with his technical team.
The discussions focused on the committee’s work, exploring technical proposals and visions, and exchanging perspectives on the ongoing issues. Both parties underscored the necessity of continuing bilateral discussions and overcoming obstacles to achieve a balanced maritime boundary demarcation that serves the shared interests of Libya and Malta.
The meeting also saw the presence of Abubakr Al-Tawil, Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Nadia Mohamed Ali, Head of the Southern Europe Section. Several specialists in monitoring Libyan-Maltese relations from the European Affairs Department and the International Cooperation Department attended as well.
