Tripoli, The Libyan-Italian Joint Committee agreed Wednesday to invite companies to bid in the tender for Section 4 of Libya’s coastal road project, which runs from Misrata to the Ras Ajdir border crossing.

The Italian Embassy in Libya said in a tweet that the Joint Commission confirmed its commitment to reach another agreement with the coalition of companies concerned with Section 1 of the project from the Amsaed border crossing to the city of Al Marj, in order to start work as soon as possible.

According to the Italian Embassy, the move by the Libyan-Italian Joint Committee confirms the two countries’ determination to execute strategically important infrastructure work, which was stipulated for in the Treaty of Friendship, Partnership and Cooperation between Libya and Italy, signed in 2008.
