Libyan Interior Minister Discusses Security and Migration with U.S. Adviser

Washington:Emad Mustafa Al-Trabelsi, Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity, met with Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs, to discuss enhancing security cooperation and addressing migration issues.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on improving coordination between Libya and the United States in the security sector. Both sides discussed supporting collaboration between their security institutions to develop security capabilities and facilitate expertise exchange in areas of mutual interest.

The discussions also addressed illegal migration, emphasizing efforts to combat its effects and strengthen coordination to improve border security. Enhancing the capacity of relevant institutions to tackle migration-related challenges was also a key topic.

Both parties reaffirmed the importance of ongoing communication and coordination between Libya and the United States. They expressed support for efforts aimed at boosting security and stability in Libya and consolidating the operations of security institutions within established legal and institutional frameworks.
