Tripoli: The House of Representatives’ Defense and National Security Committee has issued a stern warning about the infiltration of the Libyan identity system. The committee highlighted concerns over the manipulation and abuses within the civil registry and official records system, which have led to foreigners illegally acquiring national identification numbers. This issue poses a significant threat to national security and the integrity of Libyan identity.

According to Libyan News Agency, the committee released a statement emphasizing the urgent need to protect the state’s legal identity and uphold national sovereignty. It warned against the infiltration of counterfeit identities into the official database. The committee urged relevant authorities to address the issue seriously, prosecute those involved according to the law without exception, and impose severe penalties on all individuals who participated in this crime, either directly or indirectly.
