Tripoli: The Government of National Unity has expressed its clear opposition to the use of Libya as a destination for deported migrants. The government has firmly denied any involvement or agreement related to the reception of migrants deported from the United States.

According to Libyan News Agency, a statement released on Wednesday by the Government of National Unity emphasized its outright rejection of any plans to utilize Libyan territory for deportations without prior knowledge or consent. The government underscored its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty.

The statement also highlighted concerns regarding certain parallel entities that might engage in unauthorized agreements. These entities, lacking official legitimacy, do not represent the Libyan state and hold no legal or political authority to bind it in such matters.
