Libya Takes Part In World Economic Forum In Russia.

Tripoli, the Government of National Unity is taking part in the World Economic Forum, being convened in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg from 2-5 June 2021, with a high ranking delegation led by Minister of Finance Khalid Al Mabrouk, Minister of Higher Education Omran Al Geib and participation of some members of the Libyan diplomatic corps in Russia.

The Forum was officially opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin in presence of politicians, economists and representatives of economic and financial organisations from all over the world.

The Forum is discussing upgrading and improving world economy with several papers being presented at the gathering by specialists and international economic experts.

The Libyan delegation conducted several encounters with key participants notably the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister for Middle East and North African Affairs Mikhael Bugdanov, to discuss economic and investment issues, and Russian contribution to reconstruction process, and in energy and other projects in Libya.

The Libyan delegation also held a meeting with Deputy Chairman of African Export-Import Bank, to discuss Libya’s possible joining of the bank, to boost development projects in Africa.
