Libya Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Ties with Russia on Unity Day

Tripoli: On the occasion of Russia’s Unity Day, Al-Baour emphasizes the GNU’s commitment to developing Libyan-Russian partnership. El Taher El-Baour, Acting GNU Minister of Foreign Affairs, reiterated the government’s commitment to further strengthening Libyan-Russian relations to serve the interests of the two friendly countries.

According to Libyan News Agency, this statement was made during a speech delivered by El-Baour at a celebration organized by the Russian Embassy in Tripoli. The event, held on Russia’s Unity Day which is commemorated annually on November 4, also saw the participation of Aydar Aghanin, Ambassador of Russia to Libya.

During his remarks, Al-Baour conveyed the congratulations of Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeibah to the government and people of the Russian Federation, along with his wishes for their continued progress and prosperity.

Al-Baour highlighted the depth of historical relations between Libya and Russia, noting recent progress through various agreements and meetings that form the legal and political framework of this partnership.

The celebration saw the attendance of several members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Libya, as well as numerous officials and dignitaries.
