Libya Engages in TICAD 9 Summit in Yokohama

Yokohama: The Libyan delegation participated in the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), which kicked off today in Yokohama, Japan. The event saw the involvement of African leaders, the Japanese Prime Minister, and international development partners.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Libyan delegation was led by Abdullah Al-Lafi, a member of the Presidential Council, along with Al-Taher Al-Baour, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. They attended the summit’s opening session, which focused on enhancing the African-Japanese partnership and supporting efforts for stability and sustainable development across the continent.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Libya’s participation underscores its commitment to enhancing its role in international and regional platforms. The country aims to actively engage in initiatives designed to achieve joint development and strengthen cooperation with partners in Africa and Japan.
