Tripoli: The Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity, under the leadership of Ali Al-Abed Al-Reda, marked its participation in the 52nd session of the Arab Labour Conference. This significant event, organized by the Arab Labour Organization, is being held in Cairo, Egypt, spanning from September 13 to 20, 2026.
According to Libyan News Agency, Libya's delegation is composed of representatives from the three major production stakeholders, namely the government, employers, and workers. They are joined by labour ministers, delegation heads, and representatives from various Arab, regional, and international organizations and unions, encompassing 21 Arab nations.
The conference is set to tackle pivotal issues that influence the future of work within the Arab region. Key topics include sustainable economic growth, social development, the implications of climate change on the work environment, digital transformation, skills enhancement, and initiatives aimed at increasing employment and reducing unemployment. These discussions are intended to foster the development of comprehensive Arab labour policies and encourage the establishment of decent and sustainable job opportunities.
