Cairo: Libya participated in the 55th session of the Arab Permanent Committee for Communications and Information Technology, which took place at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s headquarters in Smart Village, Egypt. The General Authority for Communications and Information Technology (GACI) represented Libya in these crucial discussions.
According to Libyan News Agency, Dr. Abdul Qader Al-Zlitni, who serves as the Director of the General Administration for Telecommunications Sector Development, led the Libyan delegation. The meeting gathered Arab experts and representatives from regional and international organizations to address key issues in the communications sector.
The meeting’s agenda focused on strategies to close the digital gap among Arab nations, with the goal of achieving regional digital integration. Such integration is seen as pivotal in reinforcing the region’s attractiveness as a hub for technology investments.
GACI emphasized that Libya’s participation underscores its commitment to fostering Arab cooperation. This involvement aligns with efforts to collaborate with regional organizations and partners, addressing challenges in the communications and information technology sectors.
