Tripoli:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, along with the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have underscored the significance of enhancing cooperation between Mediterranean countries. Their goal is to turn the region into an area of cooperation, security, and peace, thus promoting stability, development, and stronger people-to-people connections.
According to Libyan News Agency, this commitment was reiterated during a meeting in Tripoli between Abubakr Al-Taweel, Director of the European Affairs Department at Libya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ioannis Stamatekos, the Ambassador of Greece to Libya. The discussions were centered on bilateral relations and explored various avenues for enhancement.
The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of a recent visit by a Libyan delegation to Greece. Key topics included the potential for increased cooperation between Libya‚¬„¢s Institute for Diplomatic Studies and the Greek Diplomatic Academy. There was also a focus on drafting a memorandum of understanding to be exchanged through diplomatic channels.
Both parties emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation on mutual interests to fortify relations between Libya and Greece, while exploring new possibilities for collaboration.
