Launch of Unified Digital System for Chambers of Commerce Marks New Era for Libyan Economic Services

Tripoli: The General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture has launched a unified digital system for chambers of commerce under the patronage of Mohamed Al-Hawij, the Minister of Economy and Trade. This initiative promises to transform the landscape of Libya's business sector.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Union announced on its website that the unified digital system signifies a significant shift in institutional work. It underlines the Union's commitment to harmonizing the digital platforms of chambers of commerce and enhancing the quality of services offered to the business community. This launch is a part of a broader strategy focused on developing electronic services within chambers of commerce and simplifying transaction procedures. The initiative aims to bolster the business environment, increase institutional performance efficiency, and modernize the economic services framework in Libya.

The Union's comprehensive program included a visual presentation introducing the Union and the new digital platform. Additionally, a detailed technical presentation outlined the system's operational mechanism, the services it will provide to business owners and investors, and its role in accelerating procedures, enhancing transparency, and achieving electronic connectivity among relevant economic entities.

The event also featured the handover of the system's supervisory and technical components to the Ministry of Economy and Trade and the Customs Authority, symbolizing a high level of institutional integration and reinforcing digital connectivity among the concerned entities. The official launch ceremony of the unified digital platform marked a strategic step in Libya's economic digital transformation, aiming to establish digital governance principles and support economic development.

The event was attended by key figures, including Mahmoud Al-Futaisi, Chairman of the National Council for Economic and Social Development; Mohamed Al-Raid, Chairman of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture; Adel Kashir, Director of the Chambers of Commerce Department; Hisham Qanidi, Director of the Foreign Trade Department at the Ministry of Economy and Trade; and several officials from the Libyan Trade Network. Representatives from the Customs Authority, the Commercial Registry, chambers of commerce, industry, and agriculture, as well as Qanwan Investment and Group Management Company, also participated in the event.
