Jakarta:According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting primarily centered on issues of national reconciliation and transitional justice, highlighting the achievements of the African Union High-Level Committee on Libya. This committee, led by President Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of the Congo, played a pivotal role in the signing of the Libyan National Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation in February 2025 under the African Union's guidance.
Koury also briefed on the progress made in the political process facilitated by UNSMIL, mentioning the Agreement of the Smaller Convening and the Structured Dialogue. Both Koury and Minister Bounda emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between the United Nations and the African Union to support Libyan efforts in advancing the political process.
