Italian Government To Unveil Support For Southern Libyan Region.

Tripoli, Italian Interior Minister Luciana Lamourgese has announced that her country will unveil its financial commitment to promote rural development to achieve stability in southern Libya, affected by heavy influx of migrants.
A statement, issued on Friday by Italian Interior Ministry on Lamourgese’s meeting with the Head of the Libyan Government Abdul Hamid Al Dbeiba and her Counterpart Khalid Mazen, said the Italian Minister said she was interested in promoting a project executed by the Libyan Interior Ministry in the southern region expeditiously in collaboration with the International Organisation of Migration IOM.
Lamourgese discussed training, exchange of information and cooperation in investigations on cross-border crime gangs, and terror groups scattered along the southern border.
The Italian Nova News Agency Nova reported that the Italian Interior Minister underscored deep awareness of the strategic role Libya and Tunisia as well play in view of the latest developments they witnessed for the North Africa and the Mediterranean as a whole.
However, the Communication Office of the Government of National Unity said Al Dbeiba and Mazen as well as the Head of the Anti-migration Body have discussed with the Italian Minister Lamourgese ways of achieving stability in Libya and the effect of events in Tunisia on the region and on the migration file in particular.
