Iraq and the United Nations signed, today, Sunday, the document of the peace and stability project in Sinjar with a grant of (3) million dollars.
The Ministry of Planning stated in a statement that “the project came under its auspices and is funded by the United Nations, and implemented by three UN agencies, namely the United Nations Development Program, the International Organization for Migration, in addition to the United Nations Women’s Organization.”
The statement explained that “this project supports stability in Sinjar, and achieving sustainability in the fields of training and development, and that the project cost (3) million dollars, and includes infrastructure components, and components related to training and social cohesion, and achieving stability in Sinjar,” indicating that “this part of the support is provided by the United Nations in Iraq in light of the crises and the current circumstances, which the government is working on, for the purpose of rebuilding Sinjar and the liberated areas as
a result of the terrorist ISIS gangs and their impact on Iraq.”
The statement indicated that “the project was signed on the Iraqi side by the Governor of Nineveh, and on the United Nations side by the United Nations Development Representative in Iraq (Auke Lootsma), in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning for Technical Affairs, and the Director General of the Department of International Cooperation.”
