Tripoli: The House of Representatives announced the formation of a technical committee to examine the Libyan-Turkish agreement presented by the government led by Osama Hammad. This decision was made during a session of the House, as confirmed by spokesperson Abdullah Blihaq.

According to Libyan News Agency, the agreement in question pertains to the demarcation of maritime borders between Libya and Turkey. This agreement was initially signed on November 27, 2019, with the former Government of National Accord under the leadership of Fayez al-Sarraj. However, Blihaq did not disclose further details regarding the content of the agreement submitted for the House’s approval.

The formation of this technical committee marks a critical step in evaluating the implications of the maritime border agreement, which has been a point of discussion since its original signing. The committee’s findings will likely influence the House’s stance on the agreement as they move forward in their deliberations.
