Benghazi: The House of Representatives voted by majority on Monday to establish a technical committee aimed at engaging with the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, his deputy, and the bank's board of directors. The objective is to deliberate on pressing issues that require solutions before the House.

According to Libyan News Agency, House spokesperson Abdullah Blihaq stated that the committee will focus on discussions about the cash liquidity shortage, the exchange rate, salary delays, and possible solutions. The Governor and his deputy are expected to attend the next session, and the committee is tasked with delivering its report to the House promptly.

The session, chaired by Speaker of the House of Representatives Counselor Aguila Saleh, with First Deputy Speaker Fawzi Al-Nuwairi and Second Deputy Speaker Misbah Douma in attendance, commenced with a request from the Central Bank officials, the Libyan government, and the National Oil Corporation. They sought to defer their summons to the next session, citing various preparation-related reasons.

In addition to the formation of the committee, the House also reviewed a proposed draft law concerning money laundering and combating terrorism. Following discussions, the decision on this draft was postponed to a future session, and the session was subsequently adjourned.
