House of Representatives’ Committee Convenes to Address Security and Humanitarian Concerns in Tripoli

Tripoli: The committee assigned by the Speaker of the House of Representatives to follow up on developments in the security and humanitarian situation in the capital, Tripoli, held its first meeting yesterday, Saturday, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives branch in Tripoli.

According to Libyan News Agency, House of Representatives spokesman Abdullah Blihaq stated that during the meeting, the committee discussed the latest security and humanitarian developments in the capital in light of recent events. There was a particular concern about the possibility of demonstrators facing attacks.

The committee members reached a consensus to initiate a series of urgent meetings with various stakeholders to discuss the current situation and explore potential political solutions.

Additionally, the committee resolved to conduct field visits to the affected municipalities. This initiative aims to explore ways in which the House of Representatives can extend support to these municipalities, aligning with its national responsibilities, as mentioned by Blihaq.
