Tripoli: The Ministry of Defense of the government assigned by the House of Representatives has firmly rejected the recent statement made by the Sudanese Foreign Ministry. The statement accused the Libyan Arab Armed Forces of being involved in the internal conflict currently taking place in Sudan, but the Ministry of Defense has labeled these accusations as “completely devoid of truth.”

According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry of Defense has reiterated its steadfast commitment to upholding national sovereignty and adhering to a policy of non-interference in the internal matters of other nations, particularly those of neighboring countries with which Libya shares significant historical and fraternal bonds. The Ministry underscored that the principal duty of the Libyan armed forces is to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, secure its borders, and ensure that its territory is not used for any hostile or criminal activities that could jeopardize regional security.

In the closing part of its statement, the Ministry of Defense called upon all factions in Sudan to prioritize rationality and engage in a comprehensive intra-Sudanese dialogue. This dialogue is seen as crucial to achieving a political resolution that upholds Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity, meets the Sudanese people’s aspirations for security and prosperity, and ensures that Sudan does not become a source of threat to its neighboring countries.
