Hafaf Al-Aswad Unanimously Elected as Mayor of Sebha

Sebha: Hafaf Al-Aswad was unanimously elected mayor of Sebha. The electoral process was completed at the Sebha Electoral Administration Office, resulting in Hafaf Omar Ali Al-Aswad being elected mayor by the municipal council's elected members.

According to Libyan News Agency, the election took place with the presence of the committee formed under Resolution No. (6) of 2026, all municipal council members, representatives of civil society organizations, and the media. The election was conducted transparently, following established legal procedures.

The Sebha Electoral Administration Office mentioned on its official Facebook page that the voting process was held within its premises, adhering to legal regulations with direct oversight by civil society organizations and the media.

The election of the Sebha mayor follows the High National Elections Commission's announcement of final results for municipal council elections in eight municipalities, including Sebha, Benghazi, Qaminis, Al-Abyar, Tukrah, Suluq, Qasr al-Jedi, and Sirte. These results were declared after completing all legal and technical stages of the electoral process.
