Tripoli: The Great Man-Made River Authority has announced the resumption of water pumping towards the cities in the Western Mountain region. This significant development aims to ensure a steady water supply to these areas.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Great Man-Made River Project Authority has restarted water pumping operations from the Tarhuna pumping station to the Al-Rabta pumping station. This move is crucial for delivering water supplies to the cities in the Western Mountains. The Authority shared this update through a post on its official page early Sunday morning, highlighting the completion of the central pipeline filling, which spans approximately 261 kilometers from Ash-Shuwayrif to the Tarhuna pumping station.
Technical preparations are progressing to initiate water pumping from the Tarhuna station towards the Al-Rabta pumping station. The Authority noted that water would continue to flow through the pipeline to the beneficiary areas, including the cities of Bani Walid, Tarhuna, and several Western Mountains cities.
The completion of the filling and the resumption of pumping are part of the Authority's efforts to maintain a consistent water supply to the regions along the project's route.
