Friday Preacher Of Najaf: The UN Today Is Before The Test In Its Decision Against The Crime Of Burning The Holy Quran

The Imam of the Friday prayer in Najaf, Sadr al-Din al-Qabbanji, affirmed: “The United Nations, as it has the highest position in making global decisions, is today before the test in its decision against the crime of burning the Holy Qur’an.”

Al-Qabbanji said during the political Friday sermon in the Great Fatimid Hussainiya in Najaf: “We condemn the global silence and the cold United Nations position regarding the war drums being beaten by Sweden and Denmark in wounding the feelings of millions of Muslims in the crime of burning the Holy Quran.”

He added: “The Secretary-General’s condemnation is not enough, and he must take an international stance towards this crime, which is proceeding according to a systematic path run by countries and organizations.”

He concluded by saying: “We are proud of the Shiites of Iraq and the Shiites of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, everywhere, and they stand today in a strong position in their practice of the Husseini rituals, which is the biggest response to all the systematic conspiracies against Islam.”
