Tripoli: France's representative to the Security Council has called on Libyan actors to actively participate in the political process, emphasizing the importance of this engagement for the stability and unity of Libya. The representative reaffirmed France's support for the efforts of the UN envoy to Libya, Hanna Tetteh, and urged all involved parties to seize the opportunity to foster a stable, sovereign, and unified nation.

According to Libyan News Agency, during his address at the Security Council session concerning Libya, the French representative highlighted the critical nature of Libyan unity in achieving stability and confronting security threats. He cited recent incidents, such as drone attacks on fuel depots in Zawiya and the assassination of military intelligence head Fawzi al-Mansouri in Benghazi, as indicators of the fragile security situation in the country.

The representative emphasized the necessity of unifying Libya's security forces and the army, advocating for the establishment of a unified government to ensure national stability and security. He urged the withdrawal of foreign fighters and mercenaries, which is essential for Libya to regain complete sovereignty.

He further warned that the lack of political unity could worsen the economic and social challenges faced by Libyans. The representative called for enhanced transparency in the national budget and a more equitable distribution of resources. He expressed France's support for initiatives aimed at economic unification, the implementation of the unified development agreement, and the efforts led by Libya's Central Bank.
