Paris: The French president's envoy to Libya confirms his country's support for holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya. French President Emmanuel Macron's Special Envoy to Libya, Paul Soler, affirmed France's support for the Libyan House of Representatives and its efforts to organize simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections.
According to Libyan News Agency, this affirmation was made during Soler's meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, in the French capital, Paris. The meeting underscored France's commitment to assisting Libya in its electoral process, as stated by the House's official spokesperson, Abdullah Blihaq.
Soler also praised the outcomes of the 6+6 Joint Military Commission, seeing them as a crucial step towards reaching consensus on electoral laws. He emphasized the importance of the Commission continuing its efforts to ensure the successful implementation of elections in Libya.
