Foreign Ministry Engages with UN Mission to Enhance Support for Humanitarian Efforts

Benghazi: The Foreign Ministry of the parliament-appointed government held discussions with the UN mission to explore ways to support humanitarian organizations and agencies. Essam Al-Asbali, who serves as the Director of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, convened a meeting with Nawon Choi, the Head of the Office of the Deputy Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Humanitarian Coordinator for the UN Mission.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting took place on Sunday morning in Benghazi and focused on supporting the operations of UN agencies and simplifying their procedures to execute humanitarian missions effectively. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation acts as the legal gateway and the primary channel for engaging with international organizations. This role is crucial in linking international efforts with local partners, which include various ministries, agencies, and non-governmental organizations in Libya.
