Tobruk: The Tobruk Municipal Council announced today the re-election of Faraj Hashim Bu Al-Khattabiya as mayor. This decision was made during an official session orchestrated by the Electoral Administration Office, a component of the municipal council elections for Group Three - 2025.
According to Libyan News Agency, the election process was conducted at the headquarters of the High National Elections Commission. The event saw full attendance from the elected members of the municipal council, alongside observers and local media. A statement issued by the municipal council confirmed that all legal and procedural regulations for municipal elections were followed.
Ali Al-Taie, Director of the Electoral Administration Office in Tobruk, mentioned that the electoral process adhered to approved regulations, supervised by a committee established by the Commission's decision regarding the election of mayors for the nine municipalities. He highlighted the transparency and orderliness of the procedures.
Al-Taie further indicated that the election results confirmed Faraj Hashem Bu Al-Khattabiya's selection as mayor for another term. He expressed his wishes for Bu Al-Khattabiya's success in his upcoming duties and reiterated the commission's dedication to completing all electoral processes with legal compliance and full transparency.
