Tripoli: ‘We will continue to support local services and strengthen cooperation with Libya,’ the EU says. GNU Minister of Local Government and Minister of Sport Abdul Shafi Al Juwaifi met with the EU Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in sports and promote exchanges between Libyan and European youth and athletes.
According to Libyan News Agency, Ambassador Orlando emphasized the EU’s commitment to partnering with Libya to improve service delivery at both central and local levels. This commitment is demonstrated through cooperation with the Ministry of Local Government and various international and local partners. Orlando highlighted successful programs such as Baladiyati, Support to Municipalities, and Moussanada, which are central to strengthening local capacities and enhancing the quality of public services for Libyan citizens.
Orlando further noted that there was an agreement to intensify technical dialogue between the EU and Libyan teams and to maintain ongoing direct communication in the coming months.
