Tripoli: Embassies of five major countries have called for an immediate restoration of calm and the protection of civilians in Tripoli. The embassies of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States expressed their deep concern over the recent security escalation in the capital, Tripoli, in a joint statement issued today, following the announcement of the ceasefire agreement.
According to Libyan News Agency, the five embassies urged the Libyan authorities to take all necessary measures to protect civilians and ensure their safety. They emphasized that restoring calm immediately is an essential step in the interest of all Libyans.
The statement also highlighted that the signatory countries welcomed reports indicating that the parties involved in the conflict have reached a ceasefire agreement. They stressed the importance of full and unconditional adherence to this agreement to maintain stability and prevent the country from descending into another wave of violence.
