Tripoli: The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) has officially approved the final results of the municipal council elections for the second group, encompassing 34 municipal councils. This announcement marks a significant step in the electoral process for municipal councils.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Commission also sanctioned the final results of the Shwerif Municipal Council elections. These results were part of the first group of municipal council elections and had been previously withheld following Commission Council Decision No. 131 of 2025. This decision was in response to a ruling by the Gharyan Primary Court.
The HNEC emphasized that this development completes the electoral process for municipal councils, underscoring its dedication to transparency and adherence to approved legal procedures.
