Tunis: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriate Affairs, Badr Abdel-Aty, affirmed that preserving the unity and sovereignty of Libyan territory is a cornerstone of Egypt’s position. This declaration was made during his participation in the third ministerial meeting of the Neighboring Countries of Libya Mechanism, which took place in the Tunisian capital, alongside Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriates, Mohamed Ali Nafti, and Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf.

According to Libyan News Agency, Abdel-Aty emphasized that Libya’s security is an integral extension of both Egyptian and Arab national security. The ministers engaged in a tripartite meeting as part of the mechanism, where they deliberated on the political and security developments in Libya. Discussions centered on enhancing coordination and consultation among neighboring countries to bolster the Libyan political process, aiming to achieve security and stability, maintain Libya’s unity, and limit foreign interference.

Concluding the meeting, a joint statement was issued, underscoring the neighboring countries’ support for efforts directed at facilitating a Libyan-Libyan political solution while respecting Libya’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
