Tripoli: A drug trafficking network including African women was arrested in Tripoli and Misrata. The Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Agency announced the dismantling of a criminal network specializing in drug and psychotropic substance trafficking in the Gergaresh area of Tripoli.
According to Libyan News Agency, the agency explained in a statement that its investigation and arrest teams, under the Operations and Coordination Department, apprehended a man, along with three Sudanese women, while they were engaged in their criminal activities. The network members were found in possession of 228 tablets suspected to be Lyrica. The statement confirmed that the necessary legal procedures were taken, and the detainees were referred to the Anti-Narcotics Prosecution Office.
In Misrata, the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Agency's branch arrested a Nigerian woman who was distributing drugs within the city. She was discovered with 15 pieces suspected to be hashish prepared for sale, alongside eight bottles of locally produced liquor. The source confirmed that the legal procedures were completed against her as well, and she was referred to the Anti-Narcotics Prosecution Office.
