Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, met with the Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, to explore ways to enhance Qatar's involvement in supporting Libya's stability and political and economic processes.

According to Libyan News Agency, Dbeibah welcomed the Qatari minister to Tripoli and Benghazi, highlighting the significance of ongoing communication with Libyan parties. He expressed the Government of National Unity's desire for increased Qatari engagement in efforts aimed at achieving stability and consensus, while strengthening both regional and international coordination concerning Libya.

The discussions centered on advancing bilateral cooperation in sectors such as energy and health services. The leaders also considered expanding economic cooperation through more comprehensive programs and projects.

The government's media office reported that the meeting also included talks on the quadripartite cooperation mechanism involving Libya, Qatar, Turkey, and Italy on irregular migration. The focus was on building upon the pilot operations room and enhancing joint cooperation programs aimed at capacity building, combating irregular migration, and supporting voluntary return initiatives. This effort seeks to solidify the mechanism as an effective platform for coordination and cooperation among the four nations.
